Today was the inaguration and we all got to watch it in school. The whole thing was pretty cool and I actually enjoyed Barack Obama's speech. Watching him speak I realized that he is actually a very talented speaker. He also seemed to be genuinely passionate about what he was saying. I was surprised though when I saw how he fumbled over the oath. But a part of me appreciated that because it showed that he was nervous and that he is also a human, capable of mistakes. Today in Journalism we fittingly had a discussion about leadership and unity in the group. We have struggled to get much done in that class and I feel that that is mainly due to poor leadership. I was getting really frustrated listening to Mr. Donnelley trying to worm his wait out of taking control. I don't think its that he is lazy or doesn't want to teach I think he truly believes that we can create something worthwhile on our own. I found it ironic after hearing Obama explain how citizenship and taking upon the role of a leader is what has made America strong, that we would have a discussion about no one wanting to lead in journalism.

Exactly! Pat, it's on you to take the stand! You and Donald and Andrea and whoever should be like, "Yo, Brian Labbe. Shut up. We're taking over." Not in those words of course, but you know what I mean :p. You still got 5 months of school left. If you step it up, that's 5-10 papers out there.
ReplyDeleteword to that. what both of you said.
